Busk, operated by Rentiful Limited ("we", "us", or "our"), is committed to protecting your privacy. Busk is a trading name of Rentiful Limited. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your personal data in accordance with the UK Data Protection Act 2018 (DPA 2018) and UK GDPR.

We collect different data depending on how you use Busk:

Tippers (people making tips)

  • Payment data: Processed entirely by Stripe. We never receive, store, or have access to your card details.
  • Technical data: IP address, browser type, device information — collected automatically for security and analytics.

Buskers (performers receiving tips)

  • Account data: Name, display name, email address, profile photo, bio.
  • Payment data: Banking details provided to Stripe for payouts. We do not store banking information directly.
  • Transaction data: Tip amounts, dates, and payout history.

3. How We Use Your Data

  • To process tips: Facilitating payments between Tippers and Buskers via Stripe.
  • To manage accounts: Creating and maintaining Busker profiles.
  • To communicate: Sending verification emails, account updates, and payout notifications.
  • To improve the Service: Understanding how the platform is used to make it better.
  • To comply with the law: Meeting legal, tax, and regulatory obligations.

4. Legal Basis for Processing

  • Contract: Processing necessary to provide the Service (tips, payouts, accounts).

We share your data only with:

  • Stripe: Our payment processor, for handling tips and payouts.
  • Cloudflare: Our infrastructure provider, for hosting and content delivery.
  • Law enforcement: When required by law or valid legal process.

We never sell your personal data to third parties.

We implement appropriate security measures to protect your data. Payment processing is handled entirely by Stripe, which is PCI DSS Level 1 certified. Profile data is stored on encrypted infrastructure provided by Cloudflare.

7. Data Retention

We retain your personal data for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the Service. Transaction records are retained for 7 years to comply with UK tax and accounting requirements. You may request deletion of your account at any time.
